Session Information

At some point in each journalist's career, they will have to report on tragedy, most commonly involving at least one death. This could involve covering a memorial, murder, school shooting, car accident, natural disaster or even a global pandemic. In this session, students will learn some tips and tricks on how to sensitively cover these topics, including how to reach out to and conduct interviews with devastated loved ones, and ways to protect their own mental health.
