Creating an ambitious broadcast program at a private school

Session Information

Do you attend a private or parochial school? Even though private and parochial schools are not protected under the First Amendment, you can still have an ambitious, aggressive student media program in which students can tell hard-hitting, well-done stories relevant to your school community. Students at St. Joseph Catholic School in Mississippi have done just that, winning numerous state and national awards for their weekly video newscast Bruin News Now and giving school graduates a huge leg up when they study journalism in college. This session will offer ideas and tips to help you do the same.
