Covering DEI when DEI is unpopular or unlawful

Session Information

On his first day in office, President Donald Trump issued an executive order seeking to end diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs throughout the federal government. Meanwhile some groups have worked to remove thousands of books from public schools across the country, many about race, racism and LGBTQ+ topics. Given this current environment, how do student journalists continue to cover topics related to diversity, equity and inclusion? We'll brainstorm story ideas and coverage strategies in this interactive discussion.
