Bump up your broadcasting: How to add more video to your website

Session Information

According to a 2024 Parks Association study, the average American is watching video 43 hours per week. That means students and staff probably want to engage with video on your student news website. In this session, you'll get ideas for brainstorming video projects, handouts on voiceovers, writing for broadcast, DaVinci Resolve editing basics and a rubric for grading. We'll mostly discuss making 1:30-2 minute news videos, but also give you ideas for other ways to add video as an extra feature to accompany written stories.

Please note that this session will be presented twice, at 11 a.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday. The material will be the same in both sections.
