Members and other individuals interested in supporting the goals and programs of JEA, NSPA and scholastic journalism are invited to submit proposals for breakout sessions at the national convention. This invitation is extended to teachers/advisers, professional journalists and students in editorial leadership positions.
Session proposal deadline for Fall 2025: Sept. 10, 2025
Please note, creating a speaker account on this site DOES NOT MEAN you are registered for the convention. This account is purely for session submissions and the convention mobile app. You will still need to register for the convention as usual when it opens on Aug. 27 (view convention dates and deadlines here).
SESSION SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS:
- To submit a session proposal, you must first fill out the required details here to create a speaker account.
- Once you have created your speaker profile, please visit the "My Submissions" tab under the dropdown menu in the top, right-hand corner and select the "New Submission" button.
- Fill out the session submission form. Once submitted, you can view and edit the session through the "My Submissions" page.
Submitting with co-presenters? Please designate one person to submit the session proposal on behalf of your group. At the end of the form, there will be an option to search for your co-presenter by name or add their information manually if they haven't yet created an account. They will then receive an email invite to log-in and update their profile details. Alternatively, they can first fill out this form to create a speaker profile, which you can then search for by name.
IMPORTANT: Please ensure ALL co-presenters correctly fill out their "Scheduling availability" section, otherwise the planning team may schedule you for a time that doesn't work for everyone involved.
